Last day in Melbourne

So after yesterdays late night, slow start and then off on the No. 1 tram to South Melbourne beach.

Then a saunter in the sunshine along the boardwalk to St Kitts, stopping for a cup of Earl Grey at a beach cafe.

Found another tram stop in St Kitts (No. 6) and journeyed peacefully back to the city. Found a pub that brewed its own beer and stopped for Fish & Chips with a pint of IPA – Alison less IPA & more chips. Watched Aus vs India on the screens in the pub (sitting next to the pool table – proper boozer)

Took on quite a lot of calories and so decided to walk along the river to the MCG in the afternoon sunshine. By a happy co-incidence the merchandise stalls were open and so a new t-shirt was acquired.

Then we tried a tram route we’ve never been on before from the Rod Laver stadium, service slow but infinitely better than walking. Walked back to the hotel stocking up with snacks & fluid from the 7-eleven. Horrendous time to get up in the morning 03:30 !
