Rotorua – Kia ora

After the late night transfer and a small drama (easily resolved) about having no room reservation, hello Rotorua !

First up, the Kiwi hatchery and environment establishment.

Must admit the novel approach of ‘entry through the gift shop’ worked this time, souvenir duly purchased.

Then on to the thermal delights of Te Puia.

Hot and Strong….

Had a few moments to spare so the coach driver delighted in taking the coach past his old home and school in Rotorua, local colour indeed.

Back at the hotel we wandered down to the lake to watch the local black swans and a pair of seaplanes frolic on and over the water.

Alison not too keen on having a go

Then off we go to the Tamaki Māori village for traditional threats, dancing, skills transfer and feasting.

Everybody has to learn the Hakka at sometime in their life
