Well that was fun

So that was fun. There flights of differing quality and duration. LHR SIN was just 12 hours trapped in the plane, SingAir have a different concept of lie flat seating, more like curl up in a ball with your feet in a hole. Still transit at Singapore was quick & efficient so we consumed the second breakfast of the day on our 2nd flight. Bangkok was a highly efficient immigration but a bit dreary whilst waiting for our 3rd and last flight of the day. Vietnam Air provided the final insult of the day by moving us from our pre-booked maximum legroom seats because apparently I’m too old to operate the emergency exits…

Still our luggage arrived at the same destination as us so that’s a blessing. The overnight stay in Chang Rai was excellent, shower, bath free Wi-Fi and a bed we could try to catch up on our sleep in. We dined (because it was convenient) in the hotel Italian restaurant which produced very good food for a price that was quite remarkable.

Shame we had to leave at 6:30 the following morning for the drive to Friendship Bridge No. 4.
